  • We are primarily a privately billing practice due to poor rebates provided by the Commonwealth for Nurse Practitioner-directed health services.

However, Medicare rebates are available for eligible services.

We will always bulk-bill you if you require follow up services within 7 days of your consult, as long as your concern relates to your presenting condition.

  • Absolutely! Nurse Practitioners can independently refer to medical specialists. Medicare rebates for referred services are available to patients.

  • Absolutely! We prescribe most medicines. However, we will not routinely prescribe medicines that can cause addiction (e.g. Valium, Endone, Panadeine Forte). Some medicines prescribed by Nurse Practitioners are not subsidised by the PBS.

  • Yes. Nurse Practitioners can request the same blood tests you get from any medical doctor.

  • We can request any diagnostic imaging test (X-ray, Ultrasound, CT Scan, MRI, etc.). However, Medicare rebates are only available for certain tests when requested by a Nurse Practitioner.

  • Yes we do! Just book in for a face-to-face consult at our Turner clinic and select the Yellow Fever Vaccine as an add-on to your consult. The cost of the vaccine is $150, and a minimum of a 15-min consult with our practitioner is required, which costs $85. Medicare card holders are eligible for a $26 rebate for the consult. The total out of pocket cost after Medicare rebate is about $209, and includes the Yellow Book vaccination record.

  • Yes we do! We provide gender affirming hormone therapy at our clinic in Turner. For those living outside Canberra Telehealth services are available.

  • We have an easy and affordable prescription refill service available to Bridging Healthcare patients. It can only be used if you have seen one of our nurse practitioners in the last 6 months and is for a medicine to treat a long-term health condition. Medicines that can cause addiction or dependence are not eligible for this service. For example, cannabis-based products, panadeine forte, methadone, or valium. You can find the link to the prescription service on our website at https://bridging.health
